研究室の概要：
東京都大田区にはじまり、長野県小谷村、東京都調布市、鳥取県西伯郡南部町、栃木県など行政と手を組みながら、空き家をはじめとする空きストックの改修設計を行い、地域の人たちが実際に運用しながら、自走するまでのスキーム構築を提供しています。
所属する学生たちは改修のための設計提案はもちろんのこと、実際に地域に入り込み、運用・自走のサポートを行います。
また近年では、高齢者や単身者の増加が進む傾向にあるわが国において、ペットと飼い主の関係性に着目し、それがこれからの動物病院のあり方にも大きく影響すると考え、ペットコミュニティと動物病院、さらには災害時のペットと飼い主の避難場所としての動物病院について、建築設計手法の構築を博士後期課程の学生とともに取り組み、松下・高橋アーキテクツアンドアソシエイツ（mt2A）が関東地方の比較的規模が大きい動物病院の設計計画を進めています。
外部からの大学院生も積極的に受け入れております。
留学生の場合は日本語、英語でのスピーキング、リーディング、ライティングが可能であることを条件とします。
Architecture Planning Laboratory/Takahashi Seminar：
Ap-lab engages in activities that connect architecture with local communities, creating cultural initiatives in small regions.
Specialized Fields:
1．Practical research on the effective utilization of vacant stocks and the cultivation of local community dynamics.
2．Research on architectural design and planning for next-generation veterinary hospitals.
Lab Overview:
Starting in Ota-ku, Tokyo, and collaborating with local administrations in places such as Otari Village in Nagano Prefecture, Chofu City in Tokyo, Nambu Town in Saihaku District, Tottori Prefecture, and Tochigi Prefecture, we engage in the renovation design of vacant houses. We provide a scheme that involves the community members actively using and managing the renovated spaces. Lab staffs not only propose design solutions for renovations but also actively participate in the communities, supporting the operation and management until they become self-sustainable.
In recent years, with the increasing number of elderly and single individuals in Japan, we focus on the relationship between pets and their owners. We believe this relationship significantly influences the future of veterinary clinics. Collaborating with doctoral student, we work on developing architectural design methods for pet communities, veterinary clinics, and veterinary clinics as evacuation places for pets and owners during disasters. Matsushita-Takahashi Architects and Associates is progressing with the design and planning of relatively a large veterinary hospital in the Kanto region.
We actively welcome graduate students from external institutions. For international students, proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in both Japanese and English is a prerequisite.
